Climate change is widespread, rapid and intensifying. And the consequences are widespread, from changes in the water cycle to changes in the sea level, to extreme weather and climate events.
Future changes to our climate and how they affect us depend on the choices we make today.
Atmospheric warming is leading to the melting of inland glaciers and ice, causing rising sea levels with significant impact on shorelines (habitat destruction, higher acidity leading to the degradation of marine ecosystems).
Art attracts attention and can be brought to focus on complex issues in a uniquely visual way that is visceral and cerebral. Since ocean ecosystems remain the epicenter of global warming; and my work has been deeply inspired by the stunning beauty of the oceans, I am sharing my Climate Change series of paintings to heighten awareness that much work needs to be done.
Global ambitious efforts are needed to increase the use of renewable energy systems & enhance energy efficiency and promote more research and conservation efforts.
Human activity is changing the climate in unprecedented and sometimes irreversible ways.
